growing up, my dad would bring baby tree frogs from the tree in our backyard, and let us pet them, this was so cool, and led me to like tree and other types of frogs. but he also did this for squirrels and birds as well. thanks for showing us this, it brings me so many fond and happy memories of childhood.

I miss this sound so much. I grew up in Darwin and the green tree frogs were like a lullaby to send me to sleep. Torrential rain too. Just wonderful.

My favourite green tree frog moment (I strongly believe that it was one of those) happened in Karumba. Our group had embarked for a sunset cruise bur I had stayed behind to shower and relax. When I drew the shower curtain, there was a "splat" sound and something dropped down next to my feet.
I really jumped - it could have been anything - but it was a handsome, plump bright green frog. I guess we were equally startled 🐸
I scooped him in a cup and took him outside...

Multiple times, in several older houses around Sth-East Qld, I've flipped up the lid and seat to find a GTF quietly sitting on the side of the bowl.
