Please notice what I found during studies in military history -- General Diocletian wed twelve year Roman prisoner Syria Queen Zenobia Ptolemy-Epiphanes who had (in prison) converted to Christianity. Then, Diocletian sat, eventually saw, met, fell in love. Historical document famously from daughter 1 of 3 of Diocletian and Zenobia their eldest daughter wrote an apology letter to ask forgiveness for her Father's genocide of Christians-- and then he became a Christian himself. Her husband general Galerius 1st next Roman Emperor in the family. Thanks for your expertise! Ann Von Habsburg

Diocletian's mistake was to mettle in the market determining fixed prices and wages. Sounds very familiar today with big government meddling with free-markets that often has unintended consequences, or gives bureaucrats corruption opportunity to choose winner and losers with the right price.
