1:47 you were secretly recording them with your gopro. They were looking at your camera. The women was looking too. They were just curious. I am sure there are creeps out there and its not safe for women but don't tarnish some innocent people's image like this.

I am just 16... My father being in the defence... He was posted to Chennai... The thing I observed there was people there are very conservative... They don't like girls wearing jeans and tshirt or dresses... If a 2 yr old girl is wearing a dress the parents themselves make her wear leggings... I was quite taken aback abt the thought process of the people... I am not telling all people r like that in Chennai... To some extent yess they judge you when you jeans top... Skirt ka toh sawal hi paida nahin hota... I myself have an experience... I was wearing jeans and top and roaming... Not even a crop top it was oversized tshirt and jeans... Jj went with my father to buy something from the market... Some ladies... Were staring at me... More like judging me for wearing jeans and tshirt... I could understand what they were speaking abt me with each other... Which was quite shocking... The problem is Women don't support women... I mean I was just 12 yrs old that time... What dk u expect a 12 yr old to wear? Salwar kameez? Seriously... The child at thatcage would love to choose want he or she wants to wear rather than having alot of ristrictions... Its kind off odd... People should understand that there should be freedom to where whatever that particular person wants to... And stop judging for once... If women only stare and say stupid things then men will obv try to do something na... This is not only Chennai or Tamil Nadu... It for whole India... People need to be a lil more open minded when it comes to girls ka clothings...

Except the blue guy most of the ppl (including women) were looking at you coz you were doing something odd over there by holding a camera towards them. And ppl who were sitting on the floor of the train were actually talking to their frnd who was sitting opposite to u. Btw report the blue guy to the police usually the police is Swift in their action against any form of abuse.

Chennai is like 5000 times safe than most north Indian cities. Its a very traditional society. It they see you wear different clothes, men women both they will kinda give you judgemental look but won't ever come and say something uncomfortable to you....been living in Delhi NCR for 11 years now and lived in Chennai before this for 5 years. I have seen woman in Chennai work till 11:30 in night and go to work at 4 am when its dark. In delhi women are hardly present in public places, its just men and men everywhere and its very uncomfortable and unsafe. So yes, Chennai is safe for women.

Hello Guys,
I have mixed opinion with this!
I have been in many night outs at chennai, even with my female friends. But, we haven’t encountered any of the scenarios as you mentioned.

I agree that people at the sub urban trains (not at chennai metro) used to stare, Even we guys had afraid of getting looted, especially during peak crowds and late nights as well.

I like to say my perspective, In this video we can also assume that the people may stare by looking at the camera she was holding.

Adding to that, Coming across a modern woman at chennai metro is very common. But not at the sub- urban trains. This may also attract a lot of on-lookers.

Hence, I conclude that it may take some time for people to totally ignore a woman who is out at late nights.
But for this sake I won’t term the chennai is not safe. It is safer than many and safest to a huge extent than many.

To all the people commenting on the videos of the 2 AM series; for instance, all the Chennai-ites are saying Chennai is safe, it might be safe for you since you haven't faced any problems yet or you are just supporting your city. I get that but don't underestimate what other people go through. And this video series doesn't aim to prove that any city is better than the others. In the end, safety is what matters. And to all of you who are blaming her way of dressing or saying that it's a traditional society, that's what we have to change. And the offenders don't look for what you are wearing, things happen no matter what women do, the Kolkata rape case is one of the biggest examples of it. No matter what we do or wear we women always have to compromise. It's sad but it's true.

Its not place, its the people that make that place safe or unsafe.
