I'm on board with Linux Mint 17.1 Mate on my new laptop.  Although not as customizable as XFCE, I find 17.1 to be the best Mint I've used so far.  Very stable and no issues so far.  I also like the Compiz, and it works well as long as I don't install any extra Compiz stuff from Synaptic Package Manager.  This suits me much better than the new Ubuntu Mate.

Weather gizmo [and more] is already on the taskbar, waiting to be set up.

1. Click on clock, then location, then edit, set up your location based on nearest airport, just start typing airport name and it should appear in the list.

2. Finish setting up clock [ie 12 or 24 hrs] and weather parameters [C or F]. Close pop up window.

3. You'll see weather icon & temperature just to the left of the date and clock. But wait - there's more! Mouse over the weather icon to get additional pop up with weather condition, temperature with 'feels like' temp, wind direction and speed, sunrise and sunset times. :o)

Sweet.

So, which version of KDENLive are you using here? I've run into a couple of issues with the latest release on more than one distro over the past month or so, especially on Knoppix. And what video editing software do you use on Windows if you have to go there?

Keep up the good work. Hope you and yours had a good Thanksgiving. Still working on the last of the Pumpkin Pie while I watched this video.

i found that most bugs come from hardware issues not linux. we all need to remember hardware issue in most cases can not be detected. lets face it even the mighty so called microsoft can not detected most hardware issues. dual booting with a  new pc will change your mind about linux also lets not forget the bios setup in most cases a setting there causes bugs even in new pc. biggest take from me is just try linux on diffirent pc's from old ones to new ones you will start to see just how much my words are true!!  lets all remember linux is free so lets all take a chill pill and enjoy :)  i love you all linux creators thanks for keeping it free love you much!!

I am a great Linux supporter and i dual boot windows 8.1 and Linux and i use Linux becorse i think linux is more flexible and user friendly but whit all do respect i think microsoft will blow linux away when windows 10 comes out in my opinion linux must focus on hardware support not the futures the best operating system is useless if hardware support is pore allot is solved but the main focus is still the graphics card support (amd/nvidia)

I really dislike Distro's bringing in Opera, as Linux isn't supported by them anymore and it's really, really outdated (July 2013). I'd rather use an up-to-date webbrowser. (also, I prefer opensource ones anyway).

I have stopped using Ubuntu in favour of Mint because of the idiotic Unity desktop, and because the Mint Menu is awesome. By the way, wtf 'Mah-tay' pronunciation all about?
