Time Bandit by Visual Sound | Demonstration

Visual Sound is proud to release Time Bandit. While not an effect pedal, the Time Bandit converts audio click tracks into a tap tempo signal that will work with any delay pedal having an external tap tempo jack. It also has a built in BPM generator with a corresponding LED display and large knob, to send BPM signals to delay pedals.

Visual Sound's Bob Weil sits down with Guitarist/Producer Clint Lagerberg to demonstrate this new, easy to use pedal.

I own the grand canyon delay, in which the fsw jack which accepts a one, two or three button footswitch! in order to recgnize a tap tempo, it needs to makes a short circuit between the sleeve and the tip of the plug (otherwise other functions are performed in the pedal, like swtiching presets). Is time bandit working by making a short circuit between the sleeve and the tip? or the tip and the ring? or both?

Will it pick up a snare or drum track? I'm just wondering what happens if I want to record to a drum track instead of a click. Or if I have the click on too will it still pick it up with drums going?

Does it only work with delays? Or does it work with other tap-tempo enabled pedals (like some tremolos, vibratos and such)?

Does the bandit receive a tapped BPM reading FROM the pedal and tell me what the value is... in case i don't want to bend down and set the BPM by hand between each song.

In other words, i want to tap the BPM value from on the pedal and have the Bandit tell me whether it's 133 or 131.

I would really love to know the answer to this question. I'm looking at using this with the Catalinbread Semaphore. Would there be any phase issues? ie. is there a noticable delay between the click input and the 'tap' output on Time Bandit?
