I'm not sure the sound is even a down side, considering that you pretty much have to get a sound bar to get good sound from these TVs now. That's the main thing that allows the sets to be so thin. Basically they tend to build them with the speakers facing down instead of forward.

You need to go into your settings to adjust the volume. In the setting go to audio and select Menu volume. There you will be given three options high, medium and low. Select high and that will increase the volume of the tv.

One thing i dislike was definetely the sound is so weak, but i got a sound bar so hopefully that helps it, i bought one from Marketplace for 400$ and i love it even with the speakers being weak...
