Montmartre Is The Heart Of Paris

Montmartre is full of Parisian charm and character. Perched above the city on a high hill, its most iconic landmark is the Sacré-Cœur basilica. You can see its white domes from far across the city and it's here you find perhaps the best view of Paris. This site has long been a site of worship, but Montmartre is more associated now with its art scene and nightlife. There was a time when a massive group of the world's most famous artists lived in Montmartre and had studios here: Monet, Renoir, Degas, Picasso, Van Gogh, Mondrian, Modigliani, and Toulouse-Lautrec (who painted those now iconic posters of the Moulin Rouge). Don't miss Place du Tertre where you'll still find artists congregated to work and sell their art. Nowadays, Montmartre is also forever known as the setting to the beloved movie Amélie.

I remember first hearing about Montmartre in my French class in high school. It sounded so awesome and I really wanted to go. I feel I finally
made it!! Thanks for this really great video about this wonderful neighbourhood. I love it and maybe someday I'll visit too.

Sigh, your videos are invoking a need to go back to Paris!!!
I lived behind Sacre Coeur for a spell.
Love the walks around there... And the restaurants!

Funny, but I don't even mind when you occasionally do a voice over episode like this. I suppose it's because you two always capture so much rich character your shots. Even your B Roll is charming. But here it was fun to hear and see so many historical facts. Always adore Toulouse-Lautrec. Some of your scenes remind me of Allen's Midnight in Paris movie :)
Your episodes are never boring.
Best, James and Kim

It's been cleaned up quite a bit.
Tourism into Paris might recover after all.

As Montmartre did not even become part of Paris until 1860, your title is a little off-the-mark 😂…
