For those of you who are wondering, yes I am a Travel Agent and I work with anyone in Canada and the United States :)

Most of the time we cruise, we book a Hotel for a night or 2 before the cruise so that we are always at the dock or the Airport, ready to go. We always have fairly bright coloured Suitcases, but my wife always ties one of my daughter trinkets to them to be sure. Haha.

We have two of the world's ugliest bright yellow luggage tags we have used for years. We can spot our suitcases in an instant.

ALWAYS pack in a carry on and carry it off. SO much quicker and I hate looking through all that luggage to find mine. Get off, hop in a cab and go. In most ports we can easily make an 11:00 flight.

I bought an airport lounge membership that allows me to fill that pre-flight time, relax at the airport, have a drink and food, and give me that last taste of vacation freedom before reality hits. Best investment I've ever made.

I started using luggage covers to help spot my bags. Getting ones that have unique patterns making finding your luggage in a sea of black.

Last week I went on the 2022 Kiss Kruise aboard the Norwegian Jewel from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas, and I did a self-disembarkation where I was one of the first passengers off the ship. I live in Anaheim CA which is a 45-minute drive from the LA cruise terminal. I got home by 10:00 am.

Our best disembarkation was on RC and our daughter wasn’t picking us up until noon. So we packed then went to the main dining room and had a very lovely relaxed breakfast! I’d never had breakfast there before and it was lovely!!

In Sept we were in NCL Joy, we could not believe how organized the crew was. The best disembarking we ever had . We do get help with the wheelchair . Everybody was so helpful. No problem with the elevators. The best staff .

I'm cruising on Thursday from Sydney Aus...I know I'm sort of breaking a rule of the time I'm travelling but I'm taking the train up from MEL-SYD overnight...I figured I'd save on accommodation fees with the overnight train, won't be rushed and have all morning to get from train station to Circular Quay..chose the middle of the day to board..as to my return/disembarkation I won't need to rush off the ship cause my return rail trip will be again overnight...so I'll probably check my bag in at the station and spend the day looking around Sydney before coming home..also, those of us on a pension here get free rail travel within our state, which means I only have to pay for the ground I cover in NSW, a return journey for less than a one-way flight..

Hi Don and fellow cruiser
I've experienced disembarkation excursion in Fort-Lauderdale with Princess before (pre-Covid era!) for late flights. It was grate. But sadly, Princess offer is curently very slim. So, for now, it is not a viable option, at least not for us.
