A complete ride in the metro train, pride of Delhi.
The Delhi Metro is a metro system serving Delhi and its satellite cities of Faridabad, Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad in National Capital Region in India. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), a state-owned company with equal equity participation from Government of India and Government of Delhi, built and operates the Delhi Metro.

Delhi Metro is the world's 12th longest metro system in length and 16th largest in ridership. A member of CoMET,[5] the network consists of five colour-coded regular lines and the faster Airport Express line, with a total length of 218 kilometres (135 mi) serving 164 stations (including 6 on Airport Express line).[1][6] The system has a mix of underground, at-grade, and elevated stations using both broad-gauge and standard-gauge. The power output is supplied by 25-kilovolt, 50-hertz alternating current through overhead catenary. The trains are usually of four, six, and eight-coach length. DMRC operates over 3,000 trips daily, with first trains starting at around 05:00 and last at 23:30.

In the financial year 2016-17, Delhi metro had an average daily ridership of 2.76 million passengers, and served 100 crore (1.0bn) riders in total during the year.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was certified by the United Nations in 2011 as the first metro rail and rail-based system in the world to get "carbon credits for reducing greenhouse gas emissions" and helping in reducing pollution levels in the city by 630,000 tonnes every year.

Planning for the metro started in 1984, when the Delhi Development Authority and the Urban Arts Commission came up with a proposal for developing a multi-modal transport system for the city. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was incorporated in May 1995, construction started in 1998, and the first section, on the Red Line, opened in 2002. The development of network was divided into phases, Phase I containing 3 lines was completed by 2006, and Phase II in 2011. Phase III is scheduled for completion by 2018 (originally planned for 2016).

Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon which opened in 2013, whilst linked to Delhi Metro by the Yellow Line is a separate metro system (with a different owner/operator than the Delhi Metro), although tokens from the Delhi Metro can be used in its network.

not a single day is imaginable without metro train these days. it is such a very useful facility.

but one head-ache i cannot help but to mention here is that the infestation of birds. you dont know when you would be a target of bird droppings from overhead. the change in design of the roof where the commuters wait for the train will solve the problem easily.

Very nice video of Delhi Metro.
In fact it is the Life Line of Delhi Citizens who are much dependent upon this mean of Transport, very convenient and life without Metro is unimaginable.
Shammi Narang Ji and Rini Simon Ji too deserve appreciation for their impressive style of announcements in Hindi and English respectively in Delhi Metro trains. It is pertinent to mention here that both had been successful News Readers over Doordarshan National Network in the early eighty era and accomplished their tasks in indelible manner which earned them much praise and respect from all.
Duo have lent their voices for
announcements in Jaipur Metro trains too
👍👍👍

🙏Every stations in India should have a screendoor for underground station sections and over Bridge should have 8ft 5 inch steal and sealed doors. It is a must and Compulsory. For the entire Metro Company in all the Metropolitan cities of India and the Entire World. For all the colour lines(Green, Purple, Yellow, Blue, Red, Pink, Black etc.) It should be compulsory for everyone for the Metro Company group in every Metro stations. Why can't it be secured like a Flight, Bullet Train, or like a IAF sealed plane?Think Broad, Flexible and Practical.

I am compiling a video of metro systems across Asia. I have not had a chance to film this system and was wondering if I could use 30 seconds of your footage? I would be more than happy to list your channel as credits under the description once I put out the video. :)
