I know the song name is "Despair" but i hear some triumphant in it, almost an hero theme for Emil, almost celebranting Emil's strength and resilience after all the years of endless and lonely battle
In the end of the quest Emil remembers his friends and can have some peace and be himself again, and we, the characters and us as players as well, are friends of Emils and are helping then to fight his trauma and recover his personality
I know this is very optimistic for Nier, but is the way i feel when i though about the quest

Once upon a time, my love for the nier series was born in this raid... After I completed automata, I had a hard time starting nier replicant because of the emotions that overwhelmed me and I put it off for a long time. And now that I'm in the second half of the replicant game, I feel like something terrible is coming at the end and I'm just bursting with sadness. I never cease to like this arrangement of the composition.
