Kamiya Hideki (Scalebound Director) Responds to Cancellation

After the cancellation of Scalebound, PlatinumGames founder and director Kamiya Hideki took it to twitter to respond to the whole event. Microsoft cancelled Scalebound on January 9th 2017 and after what seemed like many years of hard work, suddenly the project was cut. Nobody knows the exact reason but it seemed like they were having trouble in the game engine as well management issues with senior team members taking forced breaks. It was looking like another Final Fantasy XV and Microsoft was going to have none of that. So what does Kamiya Hideki has to say about all this on twitter?

The fact that no real explaination was given as to WHY the game was canceled is bad enough. IMO, he was trying to bleed Microsoft for more money and Spencer put a hault to that shit.

Don't give up, Kamiya-sensei! Scalebound can STILL be a thing, but in your own time! Don't throw this awesome potential away! I can't see anyone but YOU coming out with a game where the protagonist teams up WITH A DRAGON. That co-op, those graphics, the character has headphones and shares his music with us, the one controlling him! Every little detail is appreciated.

Seriously, this needs to be revived. For a PS4/PC port. Hell, Nintendo sounds like a better contender -- and they rescued Bayo 2 from falling into the abyss. Don't give up, Kamiya-sensei, ONEGAI SHIMASU.

Scalebound cancellation is the best thing to happen to the Xbox brand. But for Kamiya Hideki I hope he will be alright and still bounce back.

It made me mildly infuriated when you called Transformers "mediocre". It's damn near one of the best games they've ever made. Saurian, who wrote the official Bayonetta guide, went on record and said its the best gameplay system Platinum ever made. Please stop listening to what critics tell you and actually play the games yourself. Having played the other two licensed games, they were actually mediocre. Please don't lump Transformers in with the other games and listen to the players. We don't want Transformers to be another God Hand.

I call BS...the real story was they were funneling money from the Scalebound project to make another game...those so called lead guys were actually leaving the scalebound project and working on something else..once M$ got wind of such a shitty state that Scalebound was and no where near what it should be they pulled the plug on it! M$ did what ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD HAVE DONE! Platinum Games is full of shit! M$ wouldn't just cancel an Exclusive game unless they had no choice!
