2016 Proton Perdana Review - first impressions test drive

Here's a brief review of the 2016 Proton Perdana!

So Proton offers compulsory bodykit for the 2.4 and yet cannot spare some money for a proper Proton badge on the steering wheel? That imprinted logo looks so cheap!

Yes the perdana and the Accord are basically the same car, but the perdana looks so much nicer.

Tbh i like the design of the car. Better than the original Accord for sure. But the fact that it's still a Honda kinda puts me off. I mean people buy Proton to get a Proton, not a Honda

i think it's a great car... i don't know why some people hate the design... at least it's better than Almera's design~
and i really don't mind having a honda engine inside... some cars even used subaru's boxer engine... so, no surprise..
however, this car will have a little bit of identity crisis.. lol

Mainly why everyone bashing this car is because of the price. You're basicllly getting an old Accord with different body panels which is nice and I do like the design. But the 2.4 costs RM130k. The new 1.5 Turbo Civic costs the same and also all the similar D segment cars like the new Accord, Teana, Mazda 6 are all within the Perdana price range.
Basiclly, you're getting an old Accord.

At just 110K+ RM, this is most value and bang for the buck car in the D-Segment. The next cheapest car is Nissan Teana but it cost at 137K RM. (more than 20K more) I've no regrets with Perdana. Worth the money you are paying.

Proton engineer was not allowed to change, tune its powerplant. So, blame Honda meh. Even suspension was the same from Honda.

Only if neo1/TGDi finished, maybe proton put some or major changes.. Install lotus handling.

For now, proton can't do anything. Since Honda proton agreement can't give opportunity to proton put its DNA on this perdana

even though the driving the perdana is like driving the accord, i still find it quite interesting & overall for high class car, i definitely love it the way proton produce. Memang terbaik 👍👍

Priced at RM113, 888 and RM138, 888 for the 2.0 and 2.4 variants respectively, very very very expensive for a proton, they should fire their marketing experts for putting such a heavy price

tahniah proton.nama di proton sudah tidak asing lagi di luar negara...byk btol org dengki ngn proton..lantak kan diorg..kena kutuk2 pun nti rakyat mesti beli jgk model ni..walau aku cina tp aku bangga dgn hasil org kroni!!
