Leo, it is impossible to measure the work that you put into this in order to benefit the community. To the guitar world companies: Thanks to this video, and to see how Hotone has respond to this point, i just have ordered one ampero 2.

It's good to see Hotone taking the issue of latency seriously. For me, anything longer than about 4 milliseconds starts to negatively affect my playing. Thanks for all the testing you do.

Leo you're awesome. Thank you for what you do 🙏🏽

Great video and thanks for doing this testing! Perhaps you can include in these videos a "worst" and "best" case latency chart comparing all the devices you have tested each time? Hard to keep track of where everything stands.

Great Demo! The numbers look promising and it seems there are opportunities for improvements. Btw, now that Headrush released the amp "supercloning" capabilities, it would be cool to possibly do a test with their Headrush core. I know that most of their technologies are based on old IP, but it seems they started developing new stuff. I wonder if they'd send you a unit for testing.

Thanks very much for this helpful follow-up! With the external effects loop added to a chain, the latency goes up considerably due to the DA/AD conversion, as you pointed out. Makes sense. Do you know if that increase in latency remains the same even if the external effects loop is deactivated, despite being plugged in? This would be interesting to know for cases in which one has a special effect or two that only get used occasionally.

As always thank you for your excellent work!

it would be interesting to see latency numbers with Virtual Capo in the chain :D

Thanks for video, Leo. Would be interesting to see the comparison between ampero 2, headrush mx5, boss gx10 and other similarly priced units. Which one is the overall winner when it comes to features, sound quality and usability?

Hello Leo! Thanks for all this useful videos! My question is if the latency of this unit it's the same as the Ampero 2 Stage?

Thanks for this video! What about tone catch plus reverb and delay? Is there a way it can go beyond 7ms?

@Leo does this latency improvement also applies to Ampero stomp 2? Do you have measurements with the new very recent tone catch updates?

VST Clone ability and an Editor and Super Clones is now available on the HeadRush that's kind of incredible it might be worth a look now what do you think Leo?

Being right in front of the speaker or standing 6 feet away will change the latency by 6 ms. This occurs with real amps. Do we see people putting their ears right on speaker cones to eliminate latency? So if you stand 20 feet away from your amp, you will have 20 ms of latency. Is it now understood that these worries about latency are so negligible that it really makes no sense from a pragmatic perspective in my opinion. I've been playing real amps and modelers frequently over the past few years, and I've never experienced percieved issues with latency, ever.

Which one you prefer between Ampero ii vs Boss GX10?

On my Ampero Stage 2 with firmware 1.2.1 i have 5ms with FUZZ + Soloist Clean HQ (or HiGain HQ) AMP + IR (hiRes). And 8ms with Noise gate + Fuzz + loop + Amp + IR.

Hi Leo. I just noticed that the existence of latency in digital amp modeling is not the problem. The problem is the inconsistency in this latency. Simply put, when I play through my digital amp model—no matter which one—I feel that the sound delivery is sometimes faster and sometimes slower. It feels as though the audio processing does not maintain a consistent amount of latency while I play, which makes the experience uncomfortable. Unlike analog audio latency (such as the distance between the speaker and my ears), digital latency is inconsistent. This inconsistency in audio delivery is the real issue that needs to be addressed in my opinion, not the mere existence of latency itself.

Thank you for video! Leo, do you know if latency was improved on Stomp 2 model after recent update?

Can you test the latency of this pedal with pitch shifter

@leo
Is the cpu just as powerful as the ampero II Stage?
