MIDI Control Mainstage with the SPD-SX

MIDI Control any mainstage project with a MIDI controller! In this case, I'm using the Roland SPD-SX to send out MIDI notes via the USB cable, into Mainstage to control the play and stop buttons. Super easy to do, and super useful for projects!

I wonder how the hi-hat pedal works in the main stage, how to compare the closed and open hi-hats?

Trying to use SPD-SX Pro 'PAD CTRL' (PAD1: Kit decrease / PAD3: kit increase) in combination with Mainstage previous patch/next patch MIDI action, but Mainstage does not seem to accept this when PAD CTRL is active. When setting PAD CTRL to OFF on the SPD-SX Pro, patches are changing in Mainstage when hitting PAD1 or PAD3, but kits no longer change on SPD-SX Pro. Any idea how both can work together?
The goal is to hit PAD1 whereby previous patch in Mainstage is selected AND the kit on SPD-SX Pro also goes to previous kit. Same goes for PAD3 for next patch in Mainstage AND the next kit on SPD-SX Pro.

Do you know if you can send midi notes during a song? Meaning: I want the SPD to switch the scenes of my Quad Cortex live during a certain song through a midi cable. (So i don't have to do this by foot - so i can focus on singing and playing). In other words: can the SPD automatically send midi notes to the midi output after starting a track?

I know i could do this though Ableton but I prefer NOT to have a computer on stage...

What kind of cable would I need to get from the spd-sx to a laptop? I want to make sure that I’m getting the right cable that works with my spd-sx
