what shane did to those donuts was genuinely revolting. i at first thought you were just joking when you said he ate all the icing and threw the chunks back in the box, clearly without even checking with ryland if he wanted another donut for himself.

but wow, it's so immature and gross for an adult man to do to their 'wedding cake' substitute. if my new spouse did that to me, i'd be checking to see if there's a return policy on the wedding certificate.

I think what I hate most about the video is the donuts, it's such a strange level of disrespect. Shane destroyed them, WITHOUT telling Ryland and I'm assuming he's upset because why wouldn't it be and Shame definitely played it off as a silly little haha joke. That's genuinely disturbing behavior, if they do have an actual wedding with an actual cake I'm calling it right now, Shane will smash cake in Rylands face and think it's funny.

Genuinely, i hope that Ryland gets some therapy, gets a divorce, finds a MUCH better partner and finally gets to have the Big Sparkly Wedding he actually wants...

I said this on another video about it but this whole situation is like when you have that friend in a toxic relationship that will never work and deep down that friend knows it but instead of admitting it and leaving they dig themselves deeper and deeper into the relationship because they are too embarrassed to admit that it shouldn't have gone this far and are scared of all the time they've "wasted". Also scared to receive all the "I told you so" comments. I feel like that's why Ryland stays.

As funny and unnecessary as their video was, I actually kind of thought Ryland's letter at the end was sweet...and sad. In a world that's basically been designed to make people feel depressed, alone, and worthless it feels nice when you find someone who you can share it with, be it a best friend, partner, or family both blood and found. However, I just feel bad that throughout every video where we see Ryland with "the love of his life" he's constantly belittled, poked at, and made the butt of the joke. Regardless if he doesn't really take it serious or whatever, it's still really rude and ignorant that Shane continues to do that to him. If Shane didn't have his money, he'd literally just be a huge burden because not only is he the type of person to never really try to improve himself but he brings other people down and does it publicly in subtle ways. Ryland might not be the best person in the world, but I do feel bad that he's now tied to someone who's essentially a man baby with money.

No one can convince me Shane fulfils even 20% of the criteria Ryland would actually want in a It just so happens the most important one (be rich!) is fulfilled

The way Shane treats Ryan makes me so sad. Like if I had a friend whose partner spoke to them the way Shane speaks to Ryan, I'd be furious. And Shane's internalized homophobia and casually misogynistic comments are always so gross to me.

What’s really sad is seeing Ryland being worn down. I’m not even a fan but I’ve been in a relationship where I had to beg for any sort of commitment or validation of our relationship and I know how it feels to just give in to whatever because you’re so desperate for love from that person. I really hope he realizes he doesn’t have to do that.

I feel like Shane has a lot of internalized homophobia. As if, because Ryland is more flamboyant, it gives Shane the right to just be mean to him. Every time Ryland gets happy or excited about anything Ahane is close by either rolling his eyes or making a disparaging remark. And it all feels like that closeted kid who picks on the guy kid, because he's afraid people will find out. Like, it's a little too often not to be because of homophobia.

Having worked at a county clerk and recorder’s office in Colorado where we issued marriage licenses to people, I can tell you the reason they are getting married in Colorado is because of how stupid easy it is. There’s no waiting period, you don’t need witnesses or even an officiant. You need an ID and that’s pretty much it. They ask you if you’re divorced, but even if you are they don’t need to see the documentation. It’s literally harder to get a library card than it is to get married.
