Fill it's sand box . Problem can be solved. If we fit a microprocessor in that locomotive we can detect wheel slip

Wet rail reduces the adhesion and maybe presence of up gradient. New WDG 3a's are fitted with microprocessors.

If you have a flat spotted drive wheel it is possible to grind the edges off the flat spot with intentional wheel slip, its not done very often but it does work at the cost of a lot of wear on everything else ..

Sand is the key here, clean, free flowing sand, not blocked pipes or damp sand in boxes on loco. Heaps of rail burn, not good.

Wet rails, facing up gradient, no sand or soil spilled on rails, probably a curve too. Note that the trailing bogie has no sparking wheels.
