After about 7 years of searching for this song I finally found it….. I always remembered the beginning but NEVER could remember the lyrics…. Thank you God for helping me. I really needed this and boy was it a blast from the past.

I simply love how Skillet makes their lyrics vague enough so that multiple meanings can be taken from them. You might take the idea of someone missing a lover or maybe even having a drug addiction. As I said, they are made vague enough to have multiple received meanings

I’m a Saudi Arabian Muslim and I’ve been listening to this band (starting with this song) since 2006, I loved their music and even had Comatose as a ringtone on my Nokia phone when one of my friends would call.

I had no idea about skillet being a Christian rock band. I thought the song was about yearning for a lover. But I loved the song even more when I learned that the song is about God. The lyrics are so deep and powerful. I believe we pray to the same one god, the creator of heaven and earth, the one who wrote all of this destiny, the one who created me and made me Muslim, and the one who created other people to be born in other religions. Each one of us has their own customized test, their own angels, and their own demons. We all sin, and we must learn to feel bad about it and always repent. This song reminds us of our purpose in this life. So beautiful.

What matters the most is that we have to try our best to be good, and not evil. Even the smallest things can make a big difference to our final judgement. Simple things like feeding a starving stray dog can be the reason you entered heaven. Judging each other and putting other people down is the worse way to practice your faith.

Anyway, The part where he says “dead wrong to ever doubt you, but my demons lay in waiting, tempting me away” hits different.
