Review Notes for this Arrows Viper EDF Jet:

Pros:
- Looks great
- Plastic nose cone for durability
- Grips for easy hand tossing
- Fantastic value price, check links in the description!
- Powerful 50mm EDF unit
- Three plastic skids on the bottom
- It handles very similarly to the E-flite Viper Jet
- Designed for 3S packs so you can get a lot of packs for hours of fun without breaking the bank.

Cons:
- I prefer all screws to any glue, but it wasn’t bad overall.

This is how Hobbyzone describes this fun little Viper 50mm EDF PNP:

"Simple is beautiful. Without any landing gear to deal with, the Arrows RC 50mm Viper is lightweight and streamlined—perfect for those with a tight flying field or budget!

To minimize drag, increase flight time and guarantee the Viper's precision flight characteristics, Arrows RC designed a rigid single-piece wing structure and horizontal stabilizer. The lightweight airframe and esceptional aerodyncamics give the Arrows RC 50mm Viper excellent low speed handling and flight time uncharacteristic for small EDF jets of its size.

Power comes courtesy of a 50mm 11 blade fan unit, 2627-4500kV brushless motor and a high performance 30A ESA (with 3A BEC) giving unparalleled speed and sound.

How do you get pinnacle performance on a small budget? Let Arrows RC work its magic with the 50mm Viper!

Features:
- Powerful 2627-4500kV brushless motor.
- Highly efficient 50mm 11 bladed EDF unit.
- Reliable, high-performance 30A ESA with 3A BEC.

- Highly-attractive trim scheme for maximum visibility in the air.
- Uncompromised performance despite being budget friendly.

Just bought this one for my flying buddy, in exchange for his 750mm Mustang. He has very few places with a suitable runway, and belly landing on grass with a 4 blade prop didn't seem like a very smart idea. This one should be much more convenient with the smooth and well protected underside, and it's low landing speed.

Many people do a underhand launch, seems to work better. Nice flight btw

I love this little Viper. So stable and smooth. Easy to land but I don't find the best way to throw it. Saw some guys, grap it from the top side🤔

Take in consideration that I’m the self proclaimed “Jehovah’s Witness” for ArrowsRC products. I was afraid of jets. (5 years now in the sport) This didn’t stop me from buying 2 ArrowsRC Marlins last year, and 3 ArrowsRC Vipers over the last 3 months. (Pricing of the jets was a factor, and my past track record of crashing. I wanted to be proactive instead of reactive when I crashed. I’m not a quitter, it just takes me more time than normal to figure out went wrong, so having the backup plane already built was a time saver) The Viper was the exception to the rule. This is the starter jet for those who are afraid to fly jets! I went with the Admiral RX600SP receiver. Put the self-leveling on the bind button as a panic button. Rates- 90/30, 70/30, 50/30. (Never had to use the panic button. 5 flights worth, 2 flights on a blustery day, wind changing directions every minute.
Roaring Top 1800 70c for 3 flights all the back to the receiver, and Venom 2200’s the last 2 two flights. Other than a few clicks of Up Elevator sub trim, there wasn’t any inflight trimming, which was great because I was fretting each and every turn, and focused only on the right stick and a gradual throttle increase in the turns.
Started out in low rates for the first 3 or 4 laps and have flown at mid rates (70/30) ever since.
I was trying to think with my past experience what was most helpful for the Viper. (Hand launching, hairpin turns, and how little input needed to climb and turn) The UMX series of warbirds came to mind. Toss, back off throttle, wait 3 seconds to check the attitude of the plane, throttle up and turn, or if out of control, get it back on the ground. I’d hate to have the Viper as my first hand launch. I started out with nothing but hand launch pushprop gliders. (Dynam Hawksky, Eflite Radian) It’s a learned skill to throttle up with your chin, being mentally prepared for anything, and the speed of getting your fingers on the controls after the toss. My all time favorite was showing up at the field with the Hawksky, installing the wing and hooking up the ailerons servos, but not checking left and right aileron. Tossed it, waited 3 seconds, started my left turn, and the plane turns right... (right down the fence and tree line) Beginner mistakes.
The Viper is rock solid in the air. No tip stalls, and a piece of cake to land. (Could be the Admiral gyro doing its job) No more fear of jets anymore. The Viper is worth the $120 just from the sound it makes.
Bottom line- Fun to fly, easy to fly, perfect first jet if you’re an Intermediate. If you haven’t flown a jet I’d get a receiver with at least some stability assistance for the first few flights, and something you can turn off as your confidence grows. (I’ll always have a panic button programmed in Mix. Sooner or later I’m going to do something stupid. My track record proves it. Why crash a jet when I can press a button, continue flying, and figure out what I did wrong? It’s a great sport when you have no ego. LOL!)
