WiFi is 802.11, not 802.11b. The letter at the end only indicates the version of 802.11.
Actually, Ethernet and 802.3 frames are identical, other than the contents of the Ethertype/Length field, where the value determines which type it is. Then the fields change a bit. Also, there were just minor differences to the description of parts of the frame between the original Ethernet and 802.3 frames.
10baseT originated with StarLAN, which was designed to use existing telephone cabling to reduce costs.
The coax 50 ohm specification refers to impedance, not resistance.
CSMA/CD is only used with half duplex Ethernet, that is coax or hub networks. With switches, full duplex is used which does not need collision detection.
