California wildfires devastate Southern California

Critical fire weather remains in Southern California.

California fires have wreaked havoc on Los Angeles for weeks as crews battled several deadly massive blazes, including the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Hurst Fire, Hughes Fire, Kenneth Fire, Sunset Fire, Lidia Fire and Woodley Fire. Areas impacted included the Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena, Sylmar, Encino, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Hollywood Hills, West Hills, Acton and parts of Ventura County and Riverside County.

Besides the residents, I can't imagine how tired the firefighters are! I'm actually worried about them as well. I imagine they have a relief rotation of some sort set up, I hope, but god they are working long, hard hours!

Stayed at a Red Cross evaluation center and, although my area is still under evacuation orders, they demanded I apply to get free money for "transitioning" I don't need-- they asked me to leave as I refused to comply. What's the Red Cross getting out of this? Certainly not to actually help those victims affected. YOUR TAX DOLLARS PAY FOR THESE GIVEAWAYS THAT THE RED CROSS BENEFITS FROM. Disgusting. Staying in a hotel until I can go home. The center is full of homeless, drug addicts (who smoke meth in the center), thieves (that have been caught stealing from fire victims) and low life ghetto people all of which they refuse to remove. I bless the volunteers though, they are incredible but work for a questionable org. There's no way, albeit I've tried, to contact the CEO... he's MIA.
