This Cajun Restaurant Has a Year-Long Waiting List

In an unassuming building in Galliano, Louisiana, Alzina Toups makes some of the best food you’ll ever eat. But while her Jambalaya, fried shrimp and other garlic-laden Cajun staples are sure to bless your tongue and break your heart, they aren’t so easy to come by. Alzina doesn’t take walk-ins, and reservations—which book up a year in advance—can only be made by reaching her by landline.

She makes an intangible experience rather than gourmet dishes. I think I would enjoy the humbling experience too.

I knew her when I was little! My Grandmother, Rita Adams Ledet was good friends with her before she passed away. She even had one of her recipes published in Mrs. Alzina's cookbook. It's so cool to have came across this video. Brings back so many memories of making holiday trips back to the bayou. I gotta show this to my mom. 😊

She’s smart, having reservations for her restaurant, yeah she’d make more money with walk ins but those are more stressful, look how happy she is, when you look back on life your gonna look back on how much happiness u had instead of money
