I feel like the reason people do this is because we live in an age where realism is the artistic ideal or default, and they project modern sensibility backwards, when ancient art is often iconographic and has specific registers of symbols and motifs which structure a visual language you gotta know to understand like half of what's going on

I like this guy. He's relatively chill. He's so random with his comments that it's hard to brand him as a "true believer". It's as if he were sending this to a ten year old nephew and making it fun.
