I worked with a guy from New Orleans on a ship before Hurricane Katrina, but not at the time of this story.
Very sad to say he lost his mom in the Hurricane. During lunch, a crew member said, "whoever died in the Hurricane deserved it. They knew it was coming and should have evacuated." (He wasn't aware of the mans loss)
Needless to say, it was the last time he made a shitty statement like that. Your boy went to town on him. When asked, not one person there had seen anything.

If i was in school and found out my mom just died, and someone started laughing at me i would probably do everything in my power to make sure they don’t take another breath ever again😄 like, think of how much emotions and stress and anger you’d feel in that moment, the last thing you want if someone to laugh at you. I would never do laugh at someone for this, even if it is a joke, if its not id probably be dead. It’s never a good thing to hurt another person or being. But in this situation it’s understandable. They honestly should’ve known it was coming
