Nice to see the complete teardown/re-assembly timelapse.

@electrodacus Yes, the chip can easily drive a display like that, I was really talking about the 50, 000 waveform updates per second. That's why the ASIC takes care of it.

@joe72205 Yes, clearly designed to be compatible with military and other gear. Would have been part of the design spec.

Watching you put that back together was a real treat. :)

That is just how I started with electronics, of course not with a Agilent 2000 X Series Infiniivision Oscilloscope, but with an old remote control car jajjajaj I am still a newbie but daaamnn I am really learning from your videos!!

@DanFrederiksen it gets to a point where such gear becomes almost un-reviewable. It's so expensive they won't let you take it apart, and how exciting is probing a 20GHz signal to show you get a trace on the screen just a like regular oscilloscope?

@ChrisGammell Err, no, it's on my left arm actually.

Boy... I'd be tempted to complete those two missing circuits and see if the scope recognizes the extra channels.

One sexy board. It makes me wonder how many engineers it took to design it, and to interface all the different parts. The design process must be unreal. Thanks for molesting a $1200.00 scope, I always wondered what was inside, simply amazing piece of art. I suppose you got it free huh? For review? Please tell me you were able to reassemble it and make it functional again? Thanks for the tour Dave. Keep up the good work.

I was secretly hoping for a single leftover screw to be on the table once the re-assembly was done. That seems to happen to me often and it drives me crazy.

Probably scope tells Dave this when he disects it:"What is wrong with you, Dave? I'm afraid, Dave.Dave, stop, I'm afraid."

Damn, that was a beautiful board!

@EEVblog Did Agilent send you that oscilloscope?

Around 2 minutes you are praising the SMPS however these linepro designed power supplies fail as the main DC filter capacitors are sitting over SMD resistors dissipating over 4W all the while this scope is plugged in the mains even if it is not running.

@jmolesworth Yes, directly from Agilent.
