This is a sad event, but the beauty of such a solemn event is one most of us farang will probably not have the opportunity to experience. From my wife, Nathalie and I we send you and your darling wife and her whole family our wishes for strength and to enjoy the shared memories together. In our tribe it is the custom to wish the family of the departed “A long life”. May her memory be a blessing to the world.

They did a beautiful job on the ceremony and the casket is elaborate. I have been to 20 or so Thai funerals here in the USA but this is a bit different. The chanting is hypnotic. There is beauty in death in honoring the persons life. Big hugs to Auntie from abroad.
