As both a 411 Himma owner and a KTM 390 owner, ill almost certainly be picking up one of the new 450 Himmas once they become available here in the US

I love the fact it has a proper front mudguard like the last one, so you don’t get covered in crap. So proud of what RE has achieved, made in India means quality and rugged reliability.

For people outside of India, the place where this was shot is on average 14000 ft altitude..anything above 12000ft, the oxygen level gets very low, and unless one acclimatizes before, can have physical discomfort starting from nausea, headache, vomiting to complete collapse even... Same happens for the motorcycle engines. Non FI engines can hardly even breathe, the condition is better with FI, but you may still expect 25-30% power drop. Bdw...this is the best Himalayan review I have ever seen. And those shots from Nepal were amazing. And thanks for that shot of Himalayan Golden Eagle soaring. I consider them my spirit animal. Saw a pair of those in the mid Himalayas once.

This to me will be the best ADV bike period. Not too light, not too heavy, just enough power for the highway, great ergos, spoked tubeless wheels, full tft, etc.

Had the 411 and I must say, this new 452 version is literally everything the previous one lacked outdone by faaar and then RE put luxuries on it I never expected.
A never seen before (on bikes at least) navigation system in all digital instruments, full LED, a slightly adjustable seat, ride by wire with modes, light and dark mode for the display, still chopped off a little weight even tho they added lots of heavier stuff like tubeless spokes.

And RE also kept stuff I didn't expect, since some spec sheet warriors were screaming quiet loudly to reduce weight, like the mainstand, fairings, luggage rack, metal tank.

This bike is my dream come true - an affordable go anywhere bike, that's easy to access maintain and light on the pocket so you don't have to shatter your dreams if you use it for what it is made for - riding anywhere at anytime without worries.

Saying the subframe is "fixed" is a bit ambiguous so to clarify, the subframe is bolted to the main frame and can be replaced in the event of it being damaged. The passenger footrests however are welded to the subframe and cannot be removed. Just to clear that up.

Great review Clubby👍. RE will sell plenty of these and definitely a bike that will attract a lot of riders. RE bikes are evolving in terms of refinement and performance.

1:42 Fun fact! Sherpa are the mountain ethnic group who are considered as guides through the himalayas because of their knowledge of the area. So riding this bike is truly scaling the himalayas on a himalayan with an engine named Sherpa. Fits in quite nicely!

This bike fits the bill for me. I was looking at the original but wanted a bit more power for the highway. I have a WR250 which as taken me on some awesome adventures around the country but i mostly put around back roads and 4wd tracks nowadays to some good campsites and weekend trips with a bit of commuting on nice weather days. This looks like it will be my unicorn at a good price.

Looks like a great package. Great job, Clubby!

Basically the new RE 450 has ticked all the required boxed for a true ADV Overland motorcycle. Not a high performance European design, not an expensive German design, but a true overland donkey that can now overtake road trains.

I think Royal Enfield hit this out of the park with new and improved Himalayan bike that appears now to be a serious player in the entry-level adventure bike market. My reaction to this new bike is WOW what an improvement from the previous model!!!

How would you compare this with a 390 Adventure? Especially ergos for a person with long inseam.

KLR 650, DR 650 and a short list of other dual sports may be nervously awaiting the announcement of pricing. It sure looks like R E has a solid winner.

RE is benefiting more than just themselves and the riders - videos like this are planting the seed for more and more people to come and explore india and nepal etc, plenty of adventure tourism interest

I got to look at the 452 at EICMA a couple of days ago. Looks like a great bike, particularly interested in the Rally pack which I saw there which has the Tubeless tyres too
