The OFS Admiral Anderson... The Erusian Mistake of the Lighthouse War of 2019...


After running aground early in the Lighthouse War of 2019, the Osean Aircraft Carrier, OFS Admiral Anderson was abandoned. The ship, full of planes, munitions, fuel, and spare parts, was simply ignored by the Royal Erusian Navy and the Royal Erusian Air Force. Thus, they laid the groundwork for their own defeat.


Later in the Lighthouse War, the Oseans, in need of taking Tyler Island, began to plan what they hoped would finally bring the war to an end. During the meeting, the OFS Admiral Anderson was brought up. Then ignored. The officers who believed they needed a Carrier, decided to risk everything to rescue that one ship.


The move was correctly timed. The Erusian Royal Navy suffered a total strategic defeat with the annihilation of their fleet and its supporting bases at Snider's Top. In a desperate move, the Erusians began to unpackage mothballed ships. The Oseans, on the other hand, were able to use the confusion and retrieve the Anderson from where she was stuck.


Once repaired, which was minor work, the Carrier's onboard Aircraft was examined and repaired as needed. The only thing the Carrier lacked, was pilots. There were enough Osean Carrier personnel on hand, the majority coming from the sunken Osean Carrier, OFS Albatross. But Carrier personnel were solely lacking.


Osean Theater Command was still unaware of the Carrier's retrieval. Though, surprisingly, the Osean Defense Department was kept up to date. Thus Osean Central Headquarters in Oured was fully aware of their Carrier's reactivation, but could not move pilots as two Carriers were nearing completion and wishing to hide that Anderson was back online.


Fortunately, an answer provided itself.


A retired Osean Air Defense Force general complained about a late friend's daughter and what happened to her. He had made arrangements for her to return home to Osea, but she had disappeared. Very concerned, especially because of the officer involved, he made higher visible inquiries about her.


This led the Osean leadership to Spare Squadron. The ex-cons included Carrier Qualified Pilots. Immediately, Osean officers reactivated Spare Squadron as a Carrier Squadron and removed the pilots and their guards, even the dogs, from Tyler Island and transferred them to the Anderson.


Once aboard, the Scrap Queen got the planes finally up to standard. Her own standard. The mechanics around her, learned from her and realized how they could goose even more for less wear and tear out of the planes with her assistance. The pilots of Spare Squadron immediately learned on their improved planes and were soon up to date.


Anderson was then deployed as a surprise move when the Arsenal Bird, Liberty, was shot down by Osean Forces at Stonehenge. With Spare Squadron's support, Tyler Island was rapidly reclaimed by the Osean Forces and the Erusians were forced to evacuate the last Arsenal Bird, Justice, to a more secure location to support it, reducing its effectiveness considerably.


This shift in power, caused the Oseans to ignore their plan to go straight for the Erusian capital of Farbanti. Instead, the Oseans began a systemic defeat of Erusian Forces until the Erusian Civil War broke out. The Admiral Anderson and the OFS Vulture provided critical naval support for the Osean Forces during that time. Both ships were sailing up and down the Usean Coasts, essentially unchallenged, and even provided support for the pursuit and destruction of the rogue Submarine Aviation Battleship, Alicorn.


Joined by the freshly repaired Osean Carriers OFS Merlin and OFS Admiral Weeker, the latter named for the first Captain of the legendary Hubert-class Carrier OFS Kestrel.


With four Carriers, Osean Forces stormed into Farbanti during the Erusian Civil War and quickly destroyed the Radical Faction's defense forces.


But the complete loss of Satellites globally caused the war to sputter to a halt and confusion to reign as more conflicts broke out across Usea.


Osean leadership had prepared for a possibility of massive communications loss, but the level still took them by surprise. Osean Forces were largely unable to advance any further as most critical systems were lost. Nevertheless, the Osean Forces, the Conservative Faction, and various other regional powers united for a final strike at the Lighthouse.


Joined by the recently revealed and still intact OFS Kestrel II as well as the last Usean Mountain-subclass variant of the Yuktobanian Ulyanosvsk-class Carrier, UCFS Amber Mountains.


The six Carriers together, operated Fighters of a multinational coalition that finally liberated the Lighthouse, defeated the rogue UCAVs, and forced the surrender of the last Erusian Radicals along the coasts.


By the Spring of 2020, the Erusians, defeated for the second time in a single generation, entered into decline and became localized regional power.
