I could see them getting into this USFL XFL merger and bringing the competition

This is an interesting topic. Particularly because the NFL has for the past 30 years been attempting to expand their global outreach. Perhaps the Saudis could beat them to the draw on that front by establishing American-style football leagues outside the United States. There are plenty of decent players who don't make the cut in the NFL who'd give their eye tooth to play pro football irrespective of the league. The NFL had better jump on the growing global interest in the sport fast before another entity with the finesse and finance does just that!

The NFL is planning on expanding to the European market like Germany, Spain and UK. I can see the Saudis starting a European 🇪🇺 Pro Football League beating the NFL too the market and over paying college recruits to play for they're league. Like they did with the PGA golf.

The American and Chinese leagues are the worst leagues in the world, and the reason is that there is no popular football in these two countries. Unlike Saudi Arabia, football is their favorite game.

Here the scenarios.Saudi Arabia could buy XFL from Dwayne Johnson and his other investors and shut it down to start over fresh then open league up to compete for players coming out of college and getting ready to go pro and offering blank checks in edition to current pros who aren't getting paid the way they should. Examples Running Backs. But as we know the NFL would cave in and allow Saudia to buy in because they wouldn't want to compete with viewership and money. I could see Saudi's buying possibly 14 to 15 teams that have cheap owners that need to go and need new stadiums but currently dont have money but saudi fund would take care of that.
Bears, Bengals, Browns, Cardinals, Chargers, Lions, Jaguars, Jets, Raiders, Ravens, Saints, Texans, Titans and i will throw Packers and Giants in as well the money is too good for them to turn down.

Glad you spoke about this Florio. Overseas we are experiencing a tiny exodus of some of our older football players to the Saudi League. Interesting to see if American Football could be targeted by the Saudis.

This could make the sport internationally appealing.

This will be a hot button topic in the future. Congress may end up having to sort it out in the end.

Nah I would let them compete and not sell out for it. Sure they might lose players to that league especially rookies and RBs but thats a lot pf heavy lifting to compete with the NFL. As a fan I would welcome it

I have a suggestion for a Saudi team name. The Bone Saws. Or how about the 9 11's

Haha, american football or nfl is not popular outside america lol. No one watch no values. I don't think Saudi would invest in it.

Gonna be funny watching the owners give up their bs about the American flag when Saudi $$ comes flowing in, considering Saudi Arabia did 9/11.

Like Saudi Arabia could give a 💩 about football. They seemed more interested in basketball than any other US major sports, which is why it poses more of a threat to the nba than the nfl. The reaction nba players had upon learning about the Saudi’s offer of $700 million for one season to soccer player killian mbappe indicates they would join their basketball league in a heartbeat.
