Flint and Port Hat Company is a one-craftsman custom-hat shop in Bainbridge, Georgia. The hats are made by hand by owner and milliner Eldrick Jacobs and take up to four days to craft. Jacobs shares his love for hat making by walking us through each step of the process, offering his expert insights along the way.

Ahhh to see such an old process still being used to this day does my heart good. This is truly art! Some things should just never be left to all automation, this is one of those. So much pride and care goes into each of those hats. Sir I tip my hat to you. Godspeed...

I had NO idea how “hands on” hat making is! It takes quite a bit of upper body work to go through each step in the process! What an artist you are. The finished product brings to mind the way men used to dress on a daily basis!
