I am looking for a device that can record the isolated hdmi tracks to SSD, but I don’t need any livestream switching capability. From what I understand the ATEM mini pro iso would do it, but I would like something smaller more portable with fewer buttons. Really what I want is a video equivalent to a Zoom H4N, but for video instead of audio. Does anyone know if something like this exists?

Hi, did you test if the ninja átomos and the átomos cast, together, can they record up to 4k or just 1080? Hopefully your answers may question

Waaait a second, if you purchase the update you can record in h265 while using the AtomX Cast? So the final output is not necessarily prores ?? Are you sure?

Good video, Chris, but any idea now on Atomos? They recently have a screaming deal on their "Megabundle" that is the Xcast plus the wireless Connect for $399 US, however there have been no major updates to the Cast for a while and one has to really wonder where they're going with all this. (And recent claims of "channel stuffing" and other misdeeds don't help). Also, have you considered reviewing the Zato Connect? Cheers, mate, keep up the good work!

Great review. Have you tried extended H265 recording on the Ninja V? I find it ridiculous that both my Ninja V and Ninja V+ freeze consistently (~50%) on extended recording sessions longer than 30mins. And it's only 1080p 60fps, not even 4k. The whole point of H265 is to create smaller file sizes and one big use case is longer recordings. I don't see how they can even market the Ninja V to gamers to record streams, are they expecting them to record in pro res or something? I've tried the 1TB Wester Digital Blue ssd, Samsung 860, and SK Hynix S31, makes no difference (no kangaroo warning, just freezes randomly). Totally unacceptable and unreliable.
Would appreciate if you would look into this issue as you're great at in depth reviews!

I think if having all your feeds w ATOMOS recorders in either Sync Atom or Connect w Airglu you can record each isolated recorder and switched on the fly or playback all 4 /5 feeds and customize a switch edit w more depth on location semi live. Havent used this set but ive invested in the Atomos system. Cool show ! THANK YOU
