How Fast Is The Traxxas Maxx? Speed Tested on 3S & 4S LiPo

Switch to Venom 4s 5000mah 50 LiPo at 4:30. The red battery.

It's time to find out just how fast the Traxxas Maxx is on a 4s LiPo battery. I've got a 3s Venom Power 5000 mah 50C Lipo installed and ready to go in a straight line...fingers crossed. I did switch out the Traxxas connector on the ESC for an EC5 connector. I think my adapters were restricting the power the ESC was getting. I have a speed test from last night at the end that I didn't use because I have been sick and just had no energy to make it interesting to watch. I went back out today with a bit more energy, to try again after changing the connector and gained 5 mph. Hope you enjoy the video. This truck is really impressing me.

All right so I have a Rustler 4 x 4 for about a year now, and I’ve been looking to add another basher to the fleet. The Maxx seems to be easily the best bang for your buck, the most robust, and overall the next best logical step while also keeping finances in check. It seems to have all the upgrades it needs right out of the gate which I can’t say about the Rustler, considering I probably put another $300 into that car, but this video was awesome because it confirmed that I can run the max on 3S and it’ll still be a good time. I have a bunch of 3S batteries and was originally planning on going up to a 6S car because I could just combine two of my 3S LiPos, but the size and price going to 6S is an enormous leap and I don’t know if I have the space for 1/8th and 1/7th scale.

This video helped me make a decision - now I just need to save up some coin haha

Great little car, it's nice to have some high quality smaller cars. It's not always easy to get the big stuff out. When you can't you can have fun with those. Just a few years ago there were none so small, now there are a few options

Put heavier diff fluid in rear diff. It will help with rolling over so often

Just got mine yesterday. Running traxxas 4s lipo it is insanely fast straight out of the box. I didn't notice, were you using the 50/50 or 70/30 throttle setup?

Arrma Big Rock V3 stock on 3s hits 50+ so easy and so much more stable. It is planted on the road, and is a fun bashed as well. $319 is a lot less than $549. - plus being able to adjust camber and toe helps more with handling and stability. I am not a fanboy of any brand, love my Rustler, what a fun car. My Losi DB pro blows everything away at the price. I have a many cars I like. I have zero desire to own a Max, now XMax may be next.

The ESC in that truck sucks I keep seeing them doing that same thing either all three red lights or the temp light or the over-voltage light
