The body style of this version of the GLE exudes simplicity and understated elegance and luxury. A design that will hardly go out of style. The X5 is nice, but in comparison with the GLE, its body has more lines and creases thus making it too busy.

The 400d seems to me to be the pick of the range. Certainly in Australia, it comes standard with AMG body kit and 21” wheels. $140k here in Oz. Not too bad by out high tax system where the government applies a “luxury car tax” on vehicles over $65, 000. It’s called “class envy tax” here.

I looked at these and the X5. I went with the X5. I feel the GLE's are old man cars. They look good but the X5 is just sexier and more aggressive looking. I thought it performed WAY better as well.

Nice SUV, great technology, awesome interior but we in CANADA will never get another diesel here and that’s a deal breaker for me at least. Two engine choices: 2.0L turbo four and an in-line turbo six. The first one is underpowered for such a heavy SUV and no good for towing duties and the second one, although powerful and fun, doesn’t offer the pulling torque and frugality of previous Bluetek diesels of the past. Of course rich soccer moms won’t care and buy those in huge numbers non the less.

I wish they'd just come up with some clear graphics for the revs/speed because if they're not even shaping the screen like analogue and it's just a flat screen then why put fake dials on it? They just look tacky and cheap. It'd be a much more luxurious look to have something more creative or simple.
