Anne of Cleves at Hever with Dr Owen Emmerson.

In this episode, Sarah meets with Dr Owen Emmerson at Hever Castle to talk about the 'other' Anne of Hever: Anne of Cleves who lived at Hever Castle in the 1550s. Tune in to find out how Anne came dangerously close to treasonous intrigue while living at Hever.

It was nice to hear the visitors in the background enjoying themselves. I have visited a few times plus an evening there with David Starkey, a fascinating place with so many layers of history.
Thank you so much Owen and Sarah.

Nice little video featuring the lovely Owen and Sarah shedding some light on Anna of Kleves residency at Hever. There was certainly more of Anna than meets the eye, sadly more than we'll ever know.

Great in this way to experience the residence of the "Other Anne" with you, dear Sarah and Owen. My second, but this time guided visit to Hever was well worth it thanks to your idea for a talk (podcast & video). Just a bit of a pity that you didn't also bring up and picture Hever's Anne of Cleves' Panel with Anne’s AC–insignia, your discovered and so called Bonhams' Panel. You certainly succeed in connecting many Tudor and Hever fans with Anne of Cleves lifetime at Hever Castle. Very entertaining & enlightening! Many thanks to both of you!

This is such a lovely interview, with so much insight into the life of the interesting and yet somewhat historically overlooked 4th wife of Henry VIII, Anne of Cleves. Thank you so much Sarah and Owen.

Does Hever have a main a
staircase? I visited last week and cannot imagine Henry VIII getting up that spiral staircase..😊.
