- diatonicism
- all diatonic intervals
- added chromaticism, non-modulating
Rhythm
- used rhythmic values: semibreve (whole note) to demi-semiquaver (thirty-second note), dotted minim to dotted semiquaver
- rests on the beat, specific duration of notes (rather than notes simply completing the bar), syncopations, regular tuplets (triads and duplets)
