You might want to look up what "Retcon" means. Cause you provided zero information about them retconning anything. From what I gathered they are essentially doing their own prequel to the sequels. That doesn't mean retcon. Don't get me wrong it will probably be heap of garbage like the sequels were, but it's not retconning.

The three sequels made 2billion, 1.3 billion and 1 billion USD worldwide (in that order) so they were all still a huge financial success. But there is a downward trend. I can see being worried about how to continue on.

I'm just thinking... if it's supposed to be just one movie for the Mandalorian "finale", going on with the poster or image presented here... That's way too many characters! It feels like what was going on before the ninth movie: they said they were going to tie everything together, all of Star Wars movies. And what ended up happening? I'd say the complete opposite. It seems they are trying to do the same here, with the Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka and the Mandalorian (I'm probably forgetting one or two projects...).

If it's a trilogy, then maybe it could work, but even so, I feel like a fourth season would have been better, and this is coming from someone who didn't get past episode five or six on the first season (don't know why, it just didn't appeal to me at the time). I mean, they started it as series, why on Earth not to finish it as so? And yes, we haven't had a Star Wars movie for a number of years now, not that I miss any, actually. Personally, I've clocked myself out for most of modern movies and just finding, watching and re-watching old ones.

But if everything else fails, at least we'll get to see another, glorious fire burning high to sky (metaphorically speaking, of course). It's stupid to do decisions based on desperation, even more so when it comes to a big corporation or studio like Disney/Lucasfilm. But, they just can't put things to a grinding halt and let the dust settle, and just try to start anew. No, they have to go back and try to fix things that are so badly broken that it would be just better to let them be. My gosh, they themselves said it: "Let the past die, kill if you have to." It's ironic, they probably meant it as a comment to all the movies and stuff that came before the sequels. Well, I've got news for you Lucasfilm. Guess what else is in the past now??

Going back and retconning shit is what Star Wars DOES. It's as true for Legends as it is for the Disney canon. Have you considered just re-consuming the Star Wars media that you like, if none of the new stuff is your bag?

No real fan gives a shit about the sequel trilogy because last Jedi killed any chance of any of that crap being worth a damn so it would be much better if we just scrapped those movies and characters and tried to move on and put that mistake behind lets get input from the creator of Star Wars himself not try our own ideas without at the very least getting approved by the creator of Star Wars himself it's that simple!!!
