The steering component is a problem for both. Kubota might be in front of the axle but does have guards in place and while the jd has the steering components behind the axle it also hangs below it so both are susceptible to damage

I really get tired of hearing about a plastic hood. To me that isn't an upgrade .
I would rather have a steel hood so I can fix it not a plastic hood that needs to be bought after damaged.
John Deere needs to come up with something more to brag about like standard 3, 4, &5 Hydraulic hook ups. 
A big company like John Deere selling tractors at the high prices and you still need to spend 3, 000.00 more to add an Hydraulic hook up .
The Kubota can be bought with HST not as this video says.

I work on a farm that has a Kubota treadle pedal and they saw your foot gets tired etc
No not at all and at my house I have a John Deere with a forward and backward pedal and they both are fine my foot never gets tired

wow, way to not even compare similar models, and Kubota did away with the stickshift trans on the MX. btw: treadle vs two pedal. not really an issue. I've used both. treadle works better for when you have to stand up out of the seat to control tractor (such as when using forks on the front). also, the Kubota is equipped with cruise control so having to hold the pedal down for long hours isn't a reality.

Ok let's see here, who's making this commercial again!? This is complete horse crap! How do you only have 4 greasing points? You have many pins on the loader alone so, the only way I can conjure up that you got 4 is your excluding the loader! Kubota has 17, JD has 17! JD using a wet clutch is half true because they use it in their more deluxe tractors but their economy versions still have a dry. The idea of a tractor having less maintenance than another especially the low maintenance this BS commercial is trying to sell is crap. No matter brand tractors really have the same maintenance there isn't a big difference between the service of tractors. Why don't you guys talk about the fact that on a lot of JD tractors you don't have quick park loaders, you use JDQA which locks the consumer into your attachments because you don't want them being able to look elsewhere for a cheaper possible better attachment. What about the fact that JD uses yanmar engines, most Kubota tractors use Kubota manufactured engines. JD outsources a lot of things like loaders, chassis parts. You talk about Kubota putting the steering linkage in front of the axle and JD puts theirs behind the axle. Well yeah that's true but I would rather have it in front of the axle being somewhat shielded than have it behind the axle and it being lower than the axle. Very poor JD.

This review is simply inaccurate and deliberately misleading. The Kubota offers hst ie similiar single pedal operation. The Kubota is more powerful at 50 hp in HST. The Kubota in Australia doesn't have the dreaded DPF and its associated problems that plague the John Deere 4044. The John Deere is $5, 000 more expensive. Real proof however is people in Australia are buying the Kubota MX 5200 while the John Dee're has one on the lot that no one wants...

OK nice video, let's talk real not all farmers or home owners wants tractor that can pull things. marginal at best w the kubota. and can't say much for the jd as well. how about lifting a stack of wet news papers in to a dumpster w the kubota. let's talk how the mid size tractor is to flimizy to do any serious work. look at my video reviews on the kubota. mx series with a lx arm. try lifting a engine 8 cyl cast iron or a cab off of a frame see how the tractor feels . let me know ur findings thank you. I'm raising these points cause I've rented a kubota compact tractor numorious occasions very disappointed. a loss of $ 400 per rental.
