Nobody involved with any of the Kill Bill movies hired me to mix this version of Santa Esmeralda's 1977 cover of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". I saw the scene using the song and thought that it would be cool to hear just the version of the song used without the extra sound effects. Please don't sue me.

Originally performed by Nina Simone, "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" was performed in 1977 by Santa Esmeralda from the album of the same name. The song is a reminder that we are all human, or at least that we all have our own struggles. It's easy to be an angel when everything goes your way, but life's not always like that. The singer mentions how despite seeming bad when things go wrong, they ultimately mean well and have no intention of taking their frustration out on you. When they do realize that they have done wrong, intentionally or otherwise, they feel remorse, for they are but a soul whose intentions are good. Please don't let them be misunderstood.
