Samsung TV: How to Uninstall (delete) App & Remove/Move App from Home Screen

I show you how to uninstall or delete an app Samsung Smart TV. I also how you how to remove or add apps on the home screen. Hope this helps.

Finally figured this out. To remove app tags from the home screen on the latest Samsung TVs (2020 models and later), you MUST use the Samsung smart remote that came with the TV (with the round donut for the cursor keys and the round button in the middle of the donut). Then do the following steps:

1. Bring up the home screen and use the cursor keys to select the app icon you wish to remove.
2. Press and HOLD the round button inside the donut. After a couple seconds a pop-up menu will appear next to the app icon.
3. Use the DOWN cursor key to select the "remove" option from the pop-up menu, then press the round button again.
4. Repeat the process for other icons you wish to remove.

Please people keep in mind! All Samsung Smart TVs are not created equal! The older models are unable to install specific apps, like Disney+ for example.

On my TV with smart remote I had to hold down ok center button while on the source I didn't want on quick select and it revealed option to delete. Hope this helps anyone with my tv settings.

You CAN delete pre-installed apps on your Samsung "Smart" TV! This is how you do it step by step...
1: Go into your app menu and either enter 12345 on your remote or a keyboard. This will bring up a pop-up screen. You should see at the top of the box to enable "developer mode" and hit yes. After you hit yes click OK at the bottom. You should see a box come up and tell you to restart your TV.
2: You need to restart your TV after the first step. You have to hold the power button for 5 seconds and then your TV should restart and you should then see on your TV after it comes back on Samsung Smart TV from where it has completely restarted.
3: After your TV has restarted go back into your app menu and you should see at the top of the screen somewhere displayed "developer mode". If you see this you're ready for the next step. Go to the screen where the gear icon is for the settings menu and then go into your settings.
4: Ok, now is the part where you can actually start to delete the apps you do not want. Whichever app you don't want go down to where it says deep link test. Click ok when you go into deep link test. After that, you should see at the top of the app where the delete button was grayed out is now able to be used for deleting the app.
5: Repete the deep link test for each app you want
to get rid of!
-Now I have to tell you tho that your tv WILL download all those apps on its own AGAIN after you turn your TV off and back on the next time. -You will have to turn off the developer mode and restart your TV then turn back on developer mode in order to be able to delete the apps again! I suggest you download enough apps to take up the storage where Samsung can't install BLOAT on YOUR TV! Feel free to ask any questions you might have!!!

Guys once you get into apps, select settings and then you can delete the unwanted apps from your smart TV

I was able to delete apps.
I was doing so in order to Update my HBO MAX which won't update due to the fact that storage is full.
Eventhough I was able to delete several apps my storage was still 100% full (0% available) and I can't update the app.
Also, there is NO option on my TV to clear the cache whether I go through APPS or SETTINGS.
Is my only option to go out and buy an external storage device?
I know I can uninstall HBO MAX in hopes of reinstalling but as I said, deleting apps didn't free up any space, so, I won't be able to install it.
