About the song:

Back in the days, the logging worksites – in the deep forests of Finland – provided an important additional income for families, especially at the countryside. Those worksites were called "Savotta". This song is a story of one hard logging workday, inspired by the stories told by my grandfather and my uncle.

The composition is based on a pattern of five beats (5/4). This quintuple meter was used when transmitting the epic poems of the Karelian mythology, from generations to generations... more than 2500 years ago and until modern times.
