I learned to play guitar because of roy Buchanan. I'm sorry about what in 1988 or whenever it happened
He will always be my greatest guitar heroes of all time. He's the reason I learned to play the guitar

If I could find this in nice clean LP form, I wouldn’t *dream* of playing it on my turntable until I bought a new needle.

So great to see people enjoying the amazing Master of the Telecaster Roy Buchanan. It's so sad he's been lost in time and never received the respect he deserved.

This album is a gem a must have in anybodys collection .... most under rated master of them all .. they all came to learn from roy ... on the road alone at 13 he left home .... mentored robbie robertson when he was about 15 .... if you have seen him live , when he was alive, you would never forget it ... RIP Roy .... you legend ..

Ich war vom Cover derart angetan, dass ich mir die LP „blind“ kaufen musste. Habe es nie bereut. Der Titelsong ist für mich auch nach 45 Jahren immer noch eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsstücke.

By far, one of the most criminally underrated albums by an equally criminally underrated guitar genius, dubbed "the greatest unknown guitarist in the world." This is true Blues in Outer Space, at times sounding more Pink Floyd than Pink Floyd themselves ever did. Imagine if Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page sat in with Floyd during the "Wish You Were Here" sessions.
If you are the type who drools over guitar heroes then this is a must-have. My big brother brought the original LP home back when it first came out and we wore the grooves off it, then I listened to a scratchy copy on cassette for a decade. Finally you lucky individuals can experience it as it was meant to be heard - all I can say is play it LOUD. Roy was truly one of the unsung heroes of blues & rock guitar, heavily praised by Clapton and even asked to join the Rolling Stones. I dare you not to get goosebumps during the grand, aching and emotional solo during "Down By the River." Roy & his band pull out all the stops and go for the full emotional roller coaster. As well as Roy's excellent fretwork, practically bending strings off the neck, the band does an excellent job as well. Journeyman drummer Andy Newmark lays down an easy-yet-majestic rock groove that recalls the best of Floyd, which would come in handy as he would go on to play for both Roger Waters and David Gilmour. Willie Weeks delivers a smooth set of bass lines that compliment and intertwine perfectly. Hard to believe synthesizers would work with Buchanan's style, but they provide a warm, ethereal, otherworldly glow. Listen and prepare to be amazed.

Roy used to come by and jam at a friend of mines house in Falls Church VA back in the mid 70s. He was such a friendly guy, real laid back, and when he got a guitar in his hands, it was like the world stood still and listened, he was that amazing! Another one that left way too early.

What a loss he was. Really is no comparison. This was actually the first album I ever heard from him. Been many since that though.

First time hearing this was in early 80's, so glad for ytube and all it's offerings. What a great musician Roy was and such a strange ending to his life too. :( RIP Guitar Hero

Love this record. Def the most "far out" and "spacey" album Roy did. His guitar sounds great in that context.
