Radiohead’s “Creep” (1993) launched them to stardom. However, the band don’t care much for the tune : lead vocalist Thom Yorke calls it “Crap”❗️ The group doesn’t hide their disdain, and for guitarist Jonny Greenwood, that disdain started in the studio…

Greenwood thought “Creep” was “too quiet and pathetic, ” so he hit some guitar rips during the chorus while practicing with his mates. A sheer attempt to sabotage the piece. But his act of defiance had the opposite effect. It brought some much-needed angst to the tune, giving it an edge. So the guitar stabs were finally included in the song’s recording. 💚🎸💙
