I struggle alot with the concept of self-love, so instead of battling with it I found a couple of things that are similar but make me feel more comfortable. The first is self-acceptance, so saying "I accept the person that I am" or "I accept that I have done all that I can to help for today." The second (and my personal favourite) is gratitude, so saying things like "I'm grateful for my hands because they draw well" or "I'm grateful for my sight because I can see the blue sky on a sunny day." Just thought I'd post these as I know self-love isn't easy for everyone but finding positivity in yourself can be done in many ways :) ❤

wow this a great idea! Best self talk ever! Most of us are unaware of their self talk, and a lot of it is negative. this is one thing I can and will share.

What you do is much better than what I do. In order to express something, I talk a lot, while you with one drawing mean a lot.. The freckles on your hand are very beautiful.

you sharing this narration with us was extremely moving; sending me into a whirlwind of strong emotions, to the point that it had brought me to tears.
it has certainly been a very long time since i have actually told myself that i love myself.
i forgot how it felt to do so, i was so saddened by this realization my breath hitched, my stomach twisted and it felt as though i was choking myself.
i began to fall into a swift depression by the truth of that moment, but then i replayed the past seconds in my mind, realizing that i needed to love myself!
not fall into a depression of such magnitude that an ecosystem would shake.
i repeated it again and again! it was so strong and feral that i said it again!
for so long i have been recalling all the terrible things that had been thrust upon me.
as i denied the truth that i had not been able to process everything enough; that i am now in my mid twenties learning how to process that which i do not understand of myself.
questioning whether i had ever been given the chance to be expressive without the possibility that the impact could be so unwarranted that i would not share that which i was feeling.
the sheer impact that the anxiety from fear would guide me to not being capable of processing that which accrued to the point that i no longer could.
that i was incapable of relearning until i had taken a second to breath.
these words have reminded me of the resonance of such a cord.
i love myself.
