Scott Edward Harris Lang is a former convicted thief who struggled to pay child support to his estranged wife with whom he had a daughter, Cassie Lang. With the promise of money, he was convinced by Hank Pym to take on the mantle of Ant-Man, a superhero with an advanced suit designed to shrink its wearer to a tiny size while increasing one's toughness, agility, and physical strength. Trained under Pym and his daughter Hope van Dyne, Ant-Man was to help foil Pym's former protege Darren Cross, who was intending to sell his Yellowjacket Suit design and his copy of the Pym Particles formula to HYDRA and the Ten Rings. However, their plan was discovered by Cross, culminating in a final fight between Yellowjacket and Ant-Man. To defeat him, Ant-Man shrunk small enough to enter Yellowjacket's suit and destroy it, sending Ant-Man to the Quantum Realm, but he was able to escape. Ant-Man's heroism helped restore his relationship with Cassie and his ex-wife, as well as find a new romantic one with van Dyne. Lang soon learned that the Avengers were seeking for his help.

Against Pym and van Dyne's wishes, Ant-Man joined Captain America's side during the Avengers Civil War, having been recommended by the Falcon following their previous encounter. Ant-Man fought against Iron Man and his allies, allowing Captain America and Winter Soldier to escape. Ant-Man and several of his new allies were then arrested and imprisoned in the Raft by Thaddeus Ross. When Captain America arrived to free them, Ant-Man escaped, but later made a deal with the FBI to be put under house arrest so that he could still spend time with his family.

Three days before Lang could finish his sentence, he had a strange vision of Janet van Dyne, who had remained trapped inside the Quantum Realm, and with whom Lang became psychically entangled with while he was there. This resulted in Lang being kidnapped by Pym and Hope van Dyne, who had built a Quantum Tunnel machine and intended to use it and Ant-Man to rescue Janet. These plans went awry when Ant-Man and Wasp were confronted by both Ghost and Sonny Burch, who wanted to steal the Quantum Tunnel machine for their own reasons. Ant-Man, Wasp, and Pym eventually succeeded in rescuing Janet from the Quantum Realm,. Ant-Man was then able to return home just in time to finish his house arrest, narrowly avoiding an extended prison sentence for violating the terms.

Ant-Man is a 2015 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name: Scott Lang and Hank Pym. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the 12th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay by the writing teams of Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and Adam McKay & Paul Rudd. It stars Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man alongside Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip "T.I." Harris, Anthony Mackie, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, Abby Ryder Fortson, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. In the film, Lang must help defend Pym's Ant-Man shrinking technology and plot a heist with worldwide ramifications.

Development of Ant-Man began in April 2006 with the hiring of Wright to direct and co-write with Cornish. By April 2011, Wright and Cornish had completed three drafts of the script and Wright shot test footage for the film in July 2012. Pre-production began in October 2013 after being put on hold so that Wright could complete The World's End. Casting began in December 2013, with the hiring of Rudd to play Lang. In May 2014, Wright left the project citing creative differences, though he still received screenplay and story credits with Cornish. The following month, Reed was brought in to replace Wright, while McKay was hired to contribute to the script with Rudd. Filming took place between August and December 2014 in San Francisco and Metro Atlanta.

Ant-Man held its world premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on June 29, 2015, and was released in the United States on July 17, as the final film in Phase Two of the MCU. It grossed more than $519 million worldwide and received positive reviews from critics, who generally welcomed the film's smaller stakes than other MCU films, as well as its cast, humor, and visual effects.

Loved this suit and the casting Rudd i never expected but absolute6 is Ant-Man. I do wish for Quantumania to have given him a Stark "send off" it would've shown Kang as ruthless villain. A worthy opponent for The Avengers. They already had Wasp and Cassie lined up. BUT wouldn't have mattered seeing how Kang is out and Doom is in.

I like how there is supposed to be a dated aspect to the design all things considered this is HANK PYM's suit that Lang just steals. It makes sense that it wouldn't be upgraded from the last time Hank wore it so it should feel or look a tiny bit outdated

I loved his suit from the first film. It felt really distinct from everything else in the MCU at the time. And then he showed back up in Civil War and it looked way too sleek and Tony Stark-ish. Still miss the OG.

Imagine if superheroes were real and before every fight they were like “hang on. Let me put on my stunt suit.”

That's a perfect adaptation made practical from the comics.

This suit was perfect, i think i cant say the same for the abomination of a suit in quantamania

I'm glad they put so much effort into the suit, i just wish they had put 1/10 the effort in the final fight of his first movie. The ants block the hammer from falling on the gun so it can't go off, very cinematic, except the actual prop they gave the actor to use before the CGI was a Glock.... which doesn't have a hammer to block. You pull that trigger, it goes bang 😅. Pretty much any gun EXCEPT a Glock (or a Glock-derivative) would have worked😂

Honestly, as much as I dig the suit, I think if they reverses the color scheme, it'd look slightly better.
And I can't believe I didn't notice the suit design looked different in civil war. It was more streamlined and sleeker.

… though I like the first ant-man suit. I can see the flaws of him using it in combat = Cables and antennas, along side with sensitive buttons.

It’s a great 1st draft however not stream line. Doesn’t mean every suit should be nano tech.

Suit is awesome! He’s a good enough representation of the hero, I just wish his movies weren’t so shit.
