This program is a snapshot of gardening practices in 1976. General guidance and knowledge may still be applicable to modern gardens, but products such as insecticides and fungicides may be outdated. For current practices and gardening products, we encourage you to seek out guidance from local experts such as your county agricultural agent.

There are a lot of great memories attached to Victory Garden. I think most of us who watched it as kids remember Jim Crockett as a warm and friendly presence. There are still things I do in my garden today that I learned from watching him. I also love that the show wasn't afraid to tackle tough issues, like the corn borer infestation Jim talks about in this episode.

I do have one request, though. Would it be possible to upload some more episodes that use the original "Gaspe Reel" theme song? I love that tune, and I miss hearing it at the beginning of every show. Thanks!👍
