Sen. Claire McCaskill: Bernie Will DOOM Democratic Party!

With less than two weeks to go until the first caucuses and primaries begin, Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill is warning that if Bernie Sanders ends up winning the nomination, it could tank everything for Democrats. She said the GOP attack machine has chainsaws for hands that Bernie can’t deal with, but Hillary can. John Iadarola (ThinkTank), Michael Shure, and Elliot Hill (The Lip TV), hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"In a revealing report from the New York Times Tuesday, Clinton supporters including Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) piled on in warning that Bernie Sanders could be an electoral liability for the party in 2016 if he managed to secure the nomination.

“The Republicans won’t touch him because they can’t wait to run an ad with a hammer and sickle,” McCaskill told the New York Times...

Recent polls have shown Sanders gaining momentum in early states. A CNN poll Tuesdayshowed him leading Clinton by 27 points in New Hampshire and Des Moines Register poll found him closing the gap in Iowa.”*

the only people scared of socialism are old geezers stuck in the 1950s who think the soviet union are about to invade arkansas

As a constituent of hers, shame on her. I am a proud Bernie supporter here in Missouri.

I must say as a millennial voter voting for Obama in 2008 felt like I was choosing a lesser evil. Donors make a big difference, that's why my vote is on Bernie.

Missourian here. Bernie's the only one I'm voting for. Can't say I care much for Claire McCaskill either.

I'm from Missouri and you don't speak for me. Bernie is just what we need!

I can't speak for the whole state of Missouri but here in Kansas City there's a huge support for Bernie Sanders. 👍

"Most young voters don't know what the hammer and sickle is"

Nigga, don't doubt our political prowess. We know what it is. We know it's a silly comparison and would just ignore it.

As a Missourian, I never had much of a problem with her. Until today... c'mon Claire, you're better than that! #FeelTheBern

New Iowa CNN/ORC poll: Sanders - 51%, HRC - 43%, O'Malley - 4% ...the second poll in a week that has Bernie at 51% ! And get this: ONLY previous caucus goers that participated in the most recent caucus were polled !

The argument for Hillary against Bernie is basically this: Do you want a president who is most likely able to grind out small incremental progresses in a gridlocked Washington while you sit at home and lament about the same old same old? If so, then vote for Hillary. If you're ready to improve yourself as a collective populace and actively involve yourself in the political process and engage with the politicians directly to get the things you want, and you're ready to continue to do that way after the election is over, vote for Bernie.

Bernie or bust. Bernie is ahead of Clinton in both Iowa and New Hampshire. If Democrats are as idiotic as to nominate Clinton, then they lost my vote, along with the votes of a lot of Bernie supporters who will never vote for Clinton. We need to fight for the progressive, or we're fucked, period.

Now Claire is begging for Bernie supporters to support her if she faces a 2018 primary. Not gonna happen.

As a radical progressive in Kansas City, Missouri - I can tell you Bernie has a decent chance of winning many swing states. I have family who voted for Reagan and Bush who've told me they'll vote Bernie if he gets the nomination.

As someone who once was an Obama supporter, Hillary's backing of him is not a plus to me. Obama is not the president I hoped for when I voted for him. I know, though, that Bernie will be. I grew up in NY on the border of Vermont and I've long followed his political career. His message is consistent, and he cares about the working class. He won't let the establishment bully him and he will work across the aisle to get things done.

How did that low-risk Clinton nomination work out?

I don't understand why we keep saying Hillary is more electable. Are our memories so short that we truly don't expect her to instigate more war or scandal? She keeps saying what she will do while Bernie keeps saying what he has done. Bernie is refusing to go on the true offensive against Hillary and just wants to run his own campaign, but we speak of Hillary's experience. OK, GO! What has she successfully done in her last 25 years in the public eye?
