Laurie I want to thank you for your videos. My husband and I are currently in Italy. As much as I have traveled in the past I never ever used a carry on suitcase much less for 10 days!! I took the challenge. I bought much of the items you have suggested in your videos it made packing less stressful. And I did it! I packed for 10days compression bags a must! I purchased the umbrella as well. Thank you so very much for all your videos and yes! You can travel with a carryon for 10 days. Amazing! Will never go back to full size luggage unless traveling for a long period of time.

Hi Laurie, you recommended some pajamas recently . They are wonderful, soft and easy to wear. Many (35) years ago I spent 6 years traveling for work. Not many women were on the road at the time. One year I was gone 49 weeks out of 52. I’m 79 now and don’t travel much anymore but I enjoy watching your advice. It’s excellent, right on the money. If you follow Laurie’s advice you will save aggravation. Also please remember to be kind, polite to people on the road. Those who provide services to you all day long don’t need anyone’s abuse.

When I travel to somewhere rainy, I spray my walking shoes I spray them with Kiwi boot protector. I love my Vessi waterproof boots. They introduced more styles of waterproof footwear. I also found Niki Polar Proof that will waterproof your polar fleece. This is magic, it waterproofed my fleece without affecting to texture. Thanks for all you do, I love your tips.

I traveled to Japan with the Quechua MH500 sneakers and they were perfect. Completely waterproof, comfortable, non-slip sole and after I changed the laces for a gray one, they became more neutral and good to combine with more clothes.

Love love my Teva Tirra sandals! They have 3 straps on top, so more secure. They were recommended to me by a foot/shoe specialist for travel in Europe on cobble stones. I used them and my feet did not hurt! I have been using them for years. Just get new colors. Amazon also has a knock off brand that is very similar and costs less, Viakix Acadia Hiking Sandal. They are waterproof also and I just wipe either of them down with an antibacterial wipe if they get a “foot” smell. Highly recommend both sandals.

If you haven’t tried Merry Boots they are amazing. They come in many colours and can be ordered on line. I wore them every day on my Iceland trip where the temperature went down to 0*

I bought the raincoat. I got the navy color. Love it looks and feels a lot more expensive than it was. Taking it to Vietnam & Cambodia the end of this month.

My flexible travel outfit go to for most climates, but not serious minus degree cold, is a fleece jacket worn under a waterproof (not water resistant) hiking jacket or windbreaker, with a longer derrière covering back, higher front, dual front zips- bottom up and top down- and zipped pockets ). A layer of warm sweater and another underlayer can be added. A hat/scarf/pashmina and mittens, can be added. The layers can all be worn separately. The windbreaker has a roll-up-and-hide attached hood, and the whole thing folds up small into its own pocket. These two jacket pieces deal with rain, snow, wind, and warmer weather. For those times of year when the weather changes often, and sometimes drastically, or when I am uncertain of what to expect, I find this combo has worked the best for me.

I also travel with a pashmina for the plane/airconditioning/as an extra wrapping over the two jackets. This lightweight extra layer has multiple year round uses. If traveling in summer weather this works well for those cooler evenings. If it starts snowing hard/the temp dips to the upper minus numbers (anything colder and I’m staying inside) I wind it around the jackets and a hat, and cover my mouth and ears.

Hi Laurie, I love when you recommend shoes because I have a hard time with my feet. I bought the beige sandals with the little heel that you recommended and they are the most comfortable shoes I’ve worn in a long time. Thank you so much.😊

Thanks for all your hard work! I would recommend buying a pair of water resistant or waterproof running shoes. They're definitely meant to go the distance. You want to make sure they have Gore-Tex in them. I've bought two pairs and they're great for being in the wet weather. Once in a while if I step in a really bad puddle I have to change my socks but other than that, they work great! Well worth the money. Go to a store that sells running shoes.

I got a pair of full zipper rain pants from REI for the iceland trip and they worked perfectly. the only day it rained was the day we were driving back from Hofn to Hella, so were in the car instead of out in it.

Laurie - your videos are chock full of amazing tips! Thank you so much for them all. Do you know of a tiny umbrella that is auto open/close? It makes it much easier when dashing into a building, etc. my favorite umbrellas are clear - I seem to look up at the architecture when I travel and they help keep me from missing anything. On is a Swiss brand - we saw them everywhere in Italy among both Europeans and Americans.

Thank you for sharing about quiet pants. 😊 The noise of some clothes drive me crazy. Which ones were the quiet ones?
