Pro tip: Before refilling a butane lighter, press the fill valve to vent a little of the remaining butane first. This will blow out any dust that may have accumulated in the fill valve, preventing it from being pushed into the fuel tank where it will eventually clog the flame jet. When I started doing this, my lighters started lasting a lot longer before needing replacement. However, I quit smoking a long time ago so I don't have any of them anymore anyway.
