I can see what Liam was talking about Caleb walking a thin line between redemption and damnation for a while more clearly with this scene.
Because it kinda looks like the birth of a villain traumatized by the result of his "good deeds".

I love how Nott's first reaction, rather than running away or staring in shock like everyone else, is looking back to make sure Caleb is okay. The expressions in the movement mixed with the music tells a story all on its own without need for words. I applaud you.

I’m glad that there’s an official upload now, but I kind of miss the sound effects on the fan-upload. I could’ve sworn there was a hissing sound as the arcane circle was burned into the floor, which was super satisfying.

oh god the emotional rollercoaster i just went on in just one minute
0:13 - worry at seeing everyone in trouble
0:15 - that music kicking in with Avantika's powerful pose had me in awe and horrified at the same time xD
0:26 - seeing those sygils appear I KNOW this is about to get really badass so I just went "give it to meeee"
0:36 - WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED, from Caleb's cool face to those arcane symbols appearing to that powering up of a fireball, which really gives the sensation that this shit has POWER
0:43 - the music reaching its crescendo as the fireball zooms by almost too gently, too small, and then -
0:45 - AMAZINGGGG hahHAHA take tHAT Avantika !!!
0:53 - and then the music's back, this isn't over and oh no -
0:55 - (remembers Caleb's thing) OH NO -
0:58 - Caleb's face going from angry and terrifying to heartbroken and vulnerable, my heart just sank and i forgot all about that victory because oh no oh damn
