Since you shift the line, the angle need to change to its reference angle. the original angle is 45 means that the reference angle is 135 (180-45=135). Then use the laws of Cosine to solve the missing side which is 139.8967.

You cannot use the Pythagorean theorem... why? because it is not a right angled triangle

To find the Angles you must use the LAW of SINES & LAW of COSINES :) Good video!

It's 139.897 cm (or tons) long. The largest angle is 180º-45º = 135º. Using the law of cosines, you should get that value.

The Pythagorean Theorem only applies to right triangles; this is not a right triangle.

Because you divided 50 by 25 to get 2 and 100 by 25 to get 4, you need to multiply to your answer by 25 to get 130.. If that makes sense..?

I think I understand, is it, connect the higher force to the lower force(I think, not sure) and wherever the lower one ends up is the end location

I know you said you were just guessing because you didn’t know the angles, but do you need to know the angle?
When you have the triangle formed, isn’t the formula a^2 +b^2=c^2 how you would find the Northwest force of the connected directional forces?
