We used Airbnb for our trip to Banff and Jasper in September. For Banff we stayed in Canmore, all were reasonable

Great video!! We just spent 4 days there and totally loved it.
We were with a Gate 1 travel group so we did not have enough time to rent a canoe but that just gives us a reason to go back again ❤

I'm English, I live in England, UK.
I once visited Banff, ( Long time ago Sept, 1978 ) enjoyed my visit to Canada.
I caught a Flight from Seattle, U.S.A. to Calgary,
then Bus from Calgary Airport, to Banff. Few days later caught a Bus from Banff,
to Jasper. Then a few weeks later reversed the whole thing.
I'm sorry for being boringly nostalgic.
Anyway, Peace to all !!

Hmmmm.. I live in Alberta and have visited both Banff and Jasper national parks multiple times during all seasons and have never had parking issues anywhere at any Banff or Jasper attractions.

Oh and btw … poutine is not an Alberta creation, it’s a Quebec invention… either way, it’s much loved throughout Canada. It’s better than ‘beaver tails’ IMO

Hi to all your lovely family. My wife and I are considering a trip to Canada July of next year, so I have been watching lots of these types of videos (Since Banff is a must for us) and I have to say your video has been by far the best! About halfway through and am making notes as I go. Will definitely check out your related videos. But for now, we just wanted to say thank you.

I got a chuckle from the Mrs. and her thumbs down on poutine. I agree and believe the only way one can choke down the concoction is to be hung over, starving and lacking any food sources other than left over gravy, french fries and cheese. Wait a minute, that's how the recipe was inspired. Never mind. This is a great overview of Jasper and Banff, very informative. Thanks!

This is an outstanding video. My wife and I are presently planning a trip to Banff. This was extremely helpful and your presentation is spot on perfect for us. Clear, concise no annoying loud background music and Quality video. Just all around well done. Thank you We just subscribed to your channel.

We went to Glacier this past summer and fell in love with it (It currently ranks #1 for us. Bamf and Jasper are very high on our list to visit. I have LOVED your videos on these parks.
For those who take time to read the comment section, . Matt and Cheryl's advice on these videos and their guides is GOLD. We have used their advice for several trips (Yellowstone/Grand Teton)(The Utah Parks)&(Dakotas/Glacier). Every one of them was perfect in large part from the advice they gave. Of course, they are going to promote their business, but from someone who has utilized their work in helping others have a fantastic adventure, I cannot recommend them more <3 You can feel the genuine sincerity jump through the screen and replies in every comment.
I say this especially because when you go on a family vacation especially, the time and money you are investing is so important. Nobody wants to waste either. You are in great hands with these two <3

This video gave me many golden tips for my trip to Banff next month. I’ll lead a group of 15, including a few teenagers. I made a trip plan based on my experiences in Banff & Jasper in 2019, but I’m making some changes to my trip plan after this video, like taking a shuttle to Lake Louise instead of driving four cars, which avoids the vast headaches we might have. And the fancy bus and BBQ trip. Thank you very much!

Thank you so much for talking about the hotels we are coming from Australia and are staying in all the Fairmont hotels. I wasn’t sure what to expect.

This is great. From 2008-2012 I worked as a tour guide doing multi-day bus tours from Vancouver to the Rockies and back and I cant believe how much things have changed and how good I had it back then. I now live in Australia and am going back in July for a spontaneous trip i decided on only a couple weeks ago and cant believe I cant just wing it like im used to 😂😭💀 great content, friends ❤❤❤ i hope i can figure out a way to get to Moraine Lake. Ive been all over the world and it truly is one of the most remarkable, accessible places on earth

We just got back from visiting Banff and Lake Louise. First off, I have to say I have been to Banff and Lake Louise 15 years ago and they look nothing like that now thanks to social media and greedy commercialization. I got to Lake Louise at 11am and found no parking and the Parks employees managing traffic would only ask you to move on, with no suggesting of where else we could park and how we could then get to the lake. Apparently public parking at Lake Louise was full at 7:30am (300 or so public parking spots for 3000-5000 vehicles a day). We saw signs of Park and ride that led us to what we later found was the Lake Louise Ski Resort with a vast area to park. Here's the rip off - you were charged $55/person to get a 10 minute bus ride to and from Lake Louise! We reluctantly did that with no other option (we later found that there is some public transit but where to park was still an issue). The Lake front itself was overwhelmed with selfie takers and others who just got a seat with a view and did not want to abandon it. I suggest you visit in late summer or winter. Banff was unrecognizable from when I visited it 15 years ago with lots of shops. The n'dians and f'pinos who with their extended family piled into a Honda Pilot and made it out for the day occupying every bench in town - just chillin and unwillin to move on. They were there with those airport wheelchair bandits who seem to have made a miraculous recovery in the fresh air of Banff 😂

We don't say "Plains" in Canada. We say "Prairies" in Alberta.

Excellent reminder of the speed limit and being in kilometers. Our truck has the ability to switch it to that. Hopefully that helps us!

We start our 2 week journey from Oregon at the end of June. I've loved your guys videos and content!

Thank you!

FYI:
For folks who decide to drive up from Washington state into Vancouver, BC and onto Banff or Calgary, driving times are as follows:

Vancouver to Kamloops via Hope & Merritt (along Hwy 1 (Trans Canada Hwy) and Hwy 5 (Coquihalla Hwy)): 4 hours;

Kamloops to Calgary via Hwy 1 (Trans Canada Hwy): 7-1/2 hours. (Subtract off about 1 hour to Banff).

When I'd drive from Kamloops to Calgary, I'd normally stop in Revelstoke or Golden to gas up the vehicle and grab a bite to eat, so maybe spend 45 minutes to an hour there, making the trip from Kamloops to Calgary more like 8-1/2 to 9 hours (depending on whether I stopped along the way to sight-see or got slowed/delayed at a construction zone). The Province of BC had been doing some major upgrades to the Trans Canada Hwy east of Golden over the past 10 to 20 years. Haven't been through there since 2007 but I think they've completed most of the upgrades.

We are going to do the Hop On Hop Off bus which is perfect for many stops, including Lake Louise Gondola and Lake Louise itself

On the subject of "Sorry", be aware that not everyone in Canada is Canadian. Born and bred Canadians absorb the ethos from the first second of life. The process is: Person 1 says "Sorry" (eye contact). Person 2 says "Sorry" (eye contact). Person 1 says "No problem". And life goes on; people rub along together without taking offence.

just a quick add on .. lake Ohara has some beautiful hikes especially in the fall. a bit expensive to stay there and you have to shuttle in, but a gold star on my last trip there.
